We do accept dogs but they must always be kept on a lead and picked up after, as this is a working farm.

We are an ideal stopover for cyclists and walkers on the popular C2C route.  Howbeck Lodge is around 30 miles east from both Whitehaven & Workington.

John, Christine and Family welcome you to Howbeck Lodge with its Touring Caravan and Glamping site.

Howbeck Lodge is a friendly family run site on our working farm.  Situated in the Northern Lakes with easy access to the Lake District National Park, Solway Coast, Hadrians Wall & southern Scotland.

 

Our new site, with beautiful views, is due to open in April 2021.

The site sits just outside the quaint village of Hesket Newmarket, with its well known pub ’The Old Crown’ with its own brewery, village shop & post office.

All pitches are fully serviced, hardstanding with a short walk to the shower & toilet block.

Easily accessible, just 10 miles from M6 J41 (Penrith North).

Just moments away from the Lake District

We are in an ideal place if you're looking to visit the Lake District (UNESCO World Heritage Status) and enjoy walking on the fells in an area with stunning natural beauty.

Penrith has good transport links, accessible from both J40 and J41 of the M6.

In Penrith, you will find a Tourist Information Centre, several supermarkets, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Keswick is only a 40 minute drive, with lots of interesting shops, restaurants and bars.  You can walk by Derwentwater or Bassenthwaite Lake with their breath-taking views.

Carlisle – approximately a 30-minute drive away.  The Great Border City, with its Castle famous for once imprisoning Mary, Queen of Scots. The visitors centre and Tullie House Museum are definitely worth a visit for any history enthusiasts.
